It's a sad fact that a lot of people simply don't get round to making a Will. In fact every day over 1500 people die intestate (without leaving a Will). In most cases leaving their family with no clear indication of their wishes. Which effectively leaves the decision up to the government (the rules of intestacy).

That's why it is important, regardless of your age, sex or personal circumstances to set aside a little time to make a Will or indeed review your existing arrangements.

Here at Somerset Lodge we are only too aware of the implications of leaving your estate for other people to decide upon. Many people think their immediate family will get everything anyway even without making a Will. This is not always necessarily the case. In fact, often the main beneficiaries are the banks and lawyers who rack up fees sorting out the confusion left behind.

One hour of your time and a small fee is all that we require to prevent all these problems and many others, and let you get on with enjoying life.

Make a Will - it only takes a tick

  • To make sure decisions don't take months, even years, leaving many families with severe financial hardship.
  • To make sure your dependants save over £100,000 which could unnecessarily be paid in inheritance tax.
  • To stop the family arguments that often result over decisions about who should get personal belongings and heirlooms.
  • So you can decide who will look after your children rather than the decision being made by a judge.
  • To stop family heirlooms being sold at auction rather than passing on to a new generation because no-one knows who you intended to own them.
  • To prevent money that could have gone to charity going to the taxman instead.
